The 5 Best Beaches Near Porto Cesareo

Porto Cesareo sits on one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in all of Italy. Within a short drive or even a walk from Sunset Garden, you'll find beaches that rival the Caribbean.

1. Spiaggia di Porto Cesareo

Just 150 metres from your front door, this is the town's main beach. Crystal-clear shallow water, fine white sand, and views across to Isola dei Conigli. Perfect for a quick morning swim before the crowds arrive.

2. Punta Prosciutto

Consistently rated one of Italy's top beaches. The water here is an almost unreal shade of turquoise, and the sand dunes behind the beach are a protected nature reserve. About 15 minutes by car from Sunset Garden.

3. Torre Lapillo

A long crescent of white sand with calm, shallow water. Ideal for a full day of sunbathing. There are small beach bars for refreshments. About 10 minutes south of Porto Cesareo.

4. Porto Selvaggio

For something wilder, Porto Selvaggio is a natural park with a rocky coastline, pine forest trails, and stunning cliff-edge views. The swimming here is spectacular. About 20 minutes north.

5. Isola dei Conigli

The tiny island you can see from Mare's terrace. You can reach it by kayak, paddleboard, or a short boat ride. Surrounded by a marine protected area with incredible snorkelling.
